Value engineering: skate

Skate rolls over bent triangular rail. Originally skate consisted of complex aluminium cast with static suspension of plastic wheels. Value engineering was successfully used to improve cost efficiency. Project resulted in a tested functional prototype.

Details
By allowing wheels to move on springs inside the sheet-metal housing, the functionality and lifespan are improved, the weight is reduced and maintenance is simplified without an increase of cost price. Frame optimised using FEM analysis.
