Fem: mixer unit

Development and mass production of disposable mixer for 2-component adhesives. Consists of 4 easy-to-assemble parts. Material choice HDPE: glue does not stick to the material, cost efficient.

Design testing: SLS models and casts
Production techniques: plastic moulding using 8 moulds
Delivery: assembled product

For mixing the most viscous adhesives, 45 bar is required. This extreme pressure puts high demands on the design: sealing at attachment point vs. easy assembly, material strength vs. cost and production time. Impossible without FEM analysis. With FEM analyses a mass-producible product consisting of plastic moulded parts with a bayonet seal (quick, strong) was developed that -even without the safety factor- meets all requirements.
